Rest is such an important part of our life that most of us do not even give it much thought unless deprived of it. Often you will find that the average of 6-8 hours of sleep that each of us gets daily is something that we do not give much thought to and this works out fine until the time you find yourself sleep deprived. Even the most of sound of sleepers would experience some sort of sleep problems at one time or another.
Problems related to sleep could happen due to a number of reasons, some of which could be deeper rooted and more serious than others. The underlying reason for lack of sleep could range from improper planning of meals to stress that is changing everything in your life. It is best not to ignore the lack of sleep, as it will soon start affecting other areas of your life.

Therefore it becomes important for you to be able to recognize the symptoms of sleep and stress; they could manifest in the following ways:
Fatigue: The first sign of lack of sleep and the resultant stress could come about in you feeling more tired than usual. You will start to feel fatigue in spite of doing the same amount of work as you normally do or even lesser.
Sleepiness: One of the obvious signs of stress and lack of sleep is that of feeling drowsy during the day. This will lead to you feeling lethargic and sleepy throughout the day.
Headaches: Another way you will get to know about the lack of sleep as well as stress is due to the frequent and irritating headaches that you will start to experience. You could get headaches due to other reasons, so do a simple check about this.
Irritability: Many people who have had insufficient sleep and/or going through stress, will be irritable and that too for the most flimsy of excuses. When this happens you will come to realize that you are actually suffering from lack of sleep.
Heavy eyelids: Lack of proper sleep will often result in your eyes and eyelids become swollen, though this could occur due to other reasons too.
Blurry vision: Lack of sleep also has the effect of making you retain water and this can result in the liquid forming a coating on the eyes resulting in blurred vision.
Excessive yawning: A person who has not had enough sleep will find himself or herself yawning a lot throughout the day. This can be both irritating and contagious causing other people too to start yawning.
Dark circles under the eyes: While we all know that lack of sleep or having too much stress in your life can cause physical and mental problems, did you know that it can also affect your appearance. One of the reasons for the occurrence of black circles under the eye, can also be due to either lack of sleep and/or due to stress in your life.
Dizziness: A person who is suffering from stress and /or lack of sleep will also start to find that their sense of balance can be disturbed due to this. This feeling could result in feeling weak as well as feeling dizzy as you go about your daily work.
Body ache: The body goes through a range of motions and some stress as we go about our daily work. It is during our time of rest that the body naturally finds the time to repair and refresh. When you lack the requisite amount of sleep or undergo stress, the body does not have time to recover and this can result in body ache.
